Bassam Maharmeh is a cybersecurity executive with nearly 33 years of experience. He currently is the President of Jordan’s National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) leading the national cybersecurity agenda and assisting both, the government and the private sector improve their cybersecurity posture. He is a retired General and during his military service he served as Jordan Armed Forces’ CISO. He also contributed to the establishment of the first CERT in Jordan and lead the National Cybersecurity Program (NCP) from 2013-2017. After retirement, he worked as a senior consultant for Qatar’s government where he assisted in driving the country’s cybersecurity policy and strategy. He earned his Master degree in Computer Security from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, USA. He is married and father for four children.
